Meet at Worthing Pier to leave at 10:00. We'll cycle along the coast, via the Shoreham wooden bridge east side (please let me know if you'd like to join the group at this point), to the summit of Truleigh Hill. It's a road ride with an option to cycle up the short rough track to the summit of the hill. It's a long climb that riders are advised to take at their own pace. No problem for e-bikes. Walking some sections is fine. Nobody will be left on the ascent. The cafe is at the top so it's impossible to hold anybody up!We'll descend by road back into Shoreham and return to Worthing pier. Coffee and cake is available at the YHA cafe. Both outdoor and indoor seating are available. The full ride will be a little over 20 miles. Road tyres are fine for this ride, as the rough track is optional. Please check that your bike is roadworthy - we recommend the “M Check” shown here: https://www.sustrans.org.uk/our-blog/get-active/2019/everyday-walking-and-cycling/mcheck If you have a pump, puncture repair kit and a basic cycling tool kit, we recommend bringing them (just in case). All participants are ultimately responsible for their own safety and wellbeing and should be aware that the medical/first aid provisions are no different than if they were riding on their own or informally with friends
