Kennedy Peak Hike

This moderate-to-strenuous 9-mile circuit hike on Massanutten Mountain near Luray, VA will be highlighted by a wonderful panorama from an old fire tower atop Kennedy Peak (elev. 2600 feet). If we're lucky, we'll catch some late fall color and temperatures that are comfortably brisk. Our elevation gain will be about 1500 feet. We will carpool from the East Falls Church Metro Station Kiss & Ride parking lot (to the right for those leaving the station) at 8:30 a.m. The drive to the trailhead takes about 2 hours, including a stop at Sheetz to pick up lunch. Bring beverages, sturdy boots, and about $20 for transportation and trip fees.
