Reboot Hour: FOUNDRY | Startups & e-Waste

Monday, October 26 · 5:30–7:30 PM
Courthaus Social, the Courtroom (back bar), 2300 Clarendon Blvd, Arlington. Steps from Court House Metro. Head straight to the back.

September packed the room. October is startup month.

A foundry is where old metal gets melted down and recast into something new. It's also where founders get made. For one Monday, it's a back bar in Arlington.

DC Startup & Tech Week wraps on Friday. By Monday you'll be talked out, pitched out, and ready to sit down with a beer and the people you actually liked meeting. That's Reboot Hour. No agenda, no panel, no lanyard. Come decompress with the DMV's builders, dreamers, and the folks who keep them caffeinated.

How the night works:
Everyone gets a card at the door and plays Device Detectives: Startup Edition. It's the easiest way to meet five new people without the awkward part. This month's clues cover famous pivots, founder stories, startup hardware trivia, and a few e-waste facts you'll be repeating at your next happy hour. Sustainable prizes at the end for the best detectives. Food and drinks from Courthaus Social (you buy, they're great, and they take good care of us).

About that drawer of old tech:
Startups run on hardware churn. The dev laptop from your first job. The test phones nobody claimed. The office refresh that never got finished. Every one of those devices deserves a pivot, a clean exit, a second runway. Some of what we collect goes on to neighbors who need it. The rest gets a proper second life.

Bring one if you've got one. Phones, laptops, tablets, wearables, AR/VR headsets, game consoles, cords. Devices welcome, never required. Nobody is checking at the door.

eWaste Warriors is a local, Arlington-born organization giving tech a second life. Reboot Hour is the last Monday of every month, each with its own theme. Year two starts now. Learn more at ewastewarriors.org.
