Are you looking for a fun, low-pressure way to stay consistent with your running? Join us for the "Sumida Striders" community run!

We are a local group based in Kiyosumi-Shirakawa, welcoming runners of all levels who want to enjoy the fresh air along the Sumida River. We are all about building healthy habits, enjoying the scenery, and making some friends in the neighborhood.

The Plan:
7:00 PM: Meet in the covered parking lot of Dennys in Kiyosumi-Shirakawa. This is our time to gather, stretch, and meet new people.

7:10 PM: Run departs promptly! We’ll head out for a scenic 5k jog along the Sumida River Terrace. We keep a comfortable, conversational pace—no one gets left behind.

Post-Run (Optional): Once we wrap up, we can grab a bite to eat together at a restaurant like Dennys.

What to bring:
Comfortable running shoes and clothes.
Lights for visibility
Water/hydration.
Money for food!

Good vibes!

There will be a big bag for everyone to put their stuff in that I will put in my house for the duration of the run so don't worry about a locker!

About the pace:
We settle into a pace that everyone can comfortably follow - no one gets left behind (typically about 12 minutes per mile or 7:30 per km). If you're a fast runner, you're free to jog ahead!

Whether you’ve never run a 5k or you’re a seasoned pro looking for a social group to jog with, you are welcome to "join the drift" with us.
