This will be an easy hike of appr. 6.5 miles at a moderate pace. We start at the Checkerberry Trail on Bennett Lot Rd. That will take us on a flat, easy trail to Emery's Bridge Rd. Crossing the road we continue on the Orris Falls trail to Balancing Rock. After enjoying this glacial boulder we continue past to a lookout, then some wetlands, and finally to Orris Falls. These are not falls per se but a small nestled channel in a gorge.
After that we continue looping around to visit La Chance Point which has a nice view. Then we proceed past more wetlands where there are quite a few beaver damns before finishing back at our parking spot.
There is no lunch on this hike so bring water, a snack, rain gear, and poles if you use them. If you need to contact me, my cell is 609-471-4119.
