Autumn Night Sky Stargazing

\\Meeting location at Giving Pond Recreation Area, 1125 River Rd. (PA-32), Upper Black Eddy, PA 18972\\

\\All ages welcome! RSVP required\

Come join a state park naturalist for a crisp autumn night under the stars! We will meet in the parking lot of Giving Pond Recreation Area and walk a short distance along the trail out to the first picnic area on the peninsula (around 0.25 miles from the parking lot). Learn about humans’ fascination with the stars throughout history while we look for different celestial objects in the night sky.

For this program, please wear comfortable walking shoes and dress in warm layers. Bring water and any snacks you may want but be sure to carry out all trash when you leave. A limited number of about 12 binoculars will be available to borrow. Participants may also bring their own binoculars or telescopes. There is a porta-John on site. For any questions about this program, please contact Annastasia Soto at [email protected] .
