Autumn colors are fading fast but the weather is still great so let's do an exploratory hike around Mount Adams. This is considered exploratory since I have not done this hike before.

We will start at Riley Creek Trail 64 for 4.5 miles until reaching the PCT 2000, where we turn right for about 1.5 miles. We will then take a hard left up a foot path to the lake. There may be a bit of a scramble here but nothing to daunting. Along the way, we will have views of Sheep Lake, Luna Lake, and of course Mt. Adams, Mt. St. Helens, and Rainier. We will be in and out of burn zones, in alpine territory, with plenty of sun exposure.

This is an out and back hike but bring your sense of exploration and flexibility! Do not sign up for this hike if you need to be back at a specific time! There are creek crossings, but I anticipate water levels to be low so bring plenty of water! You may consider water crossing shoes?
