Join us for a fabulous circular walk from the picturesque village of West Dean, taking in beautiful woodland, open downland and some of the most spectacular views across the South Downs.
We’ll begin by walking through peaceful woodland before reaching the base of the Trundle, where the landscape opens up to reveal wonderful views stretching towards the sea.
The climb is steady, giving you a great opportunity to get the heart and lungs working. For those who want an extra challenge, there’s the option to push on to the very top of the Trundle, where you’ll be rewarded with panoramic views across Goodwood Racecourse and the surrounding hills.
Our route back takes us alongside open fields and down a beautiful grassy slope, often dotted with grazing sheep, before joining the lower path back towards West Dean.
This is a lovely walk for building your fitness and enjoying a few hills, with opportunities to stretch yourself a little further while still enjoying the social side of walking with a friendly group.
Please wear sturdy walking shoes or boots with good grip, as some sections may be uneven or slippery after rain.
A truly beautiful walk combining woodland, open countryside, rewarding climbs and breathtaking Sussex scenery.
