During the Sino-Japanese War, the perilous Burma Road was kept alive by 3,200 Nanyang Volunteers (drivers and mechanics) from Southeast Asia. They were recruited right here by the China Relief Fund—the first regional Chinese organization in Nanyang history.

While most assume these volunteers were exclusively men, four extraordinary women also answered the call! They braved the dangerous mountain turns, deadly air raids, accidents, and malaria.

This tour pays tribute to one of these heroines, Lee Yue Mei. Her thrilling undercover service and tragic postwar life reflect the immense challenges faced by the volunteers. Her story also reveals why this vital history was hidden from the public eye until recently.
There is no better place to honor their legacy than the Ee Hoe Hean Club, the historic wartime headquarters of the China Relief Fund.

Note: This entire tour is conducted indoors with full air-conditioning. No need to worry about the outdoor heat, haze, or rain!
