Trenches, Tapioca & Triumph: Singapore in WW2 A 2-hour immersive experience Synopsis: When Singapore fell in 1942, rice was scarce and families turned to tapioca to survive. Stories were shared in kitchens, and resilience was baked into every meal. This experience brings the Syonan years to life through history, memory, and food. We start with a 1-hour guided tour of the Eurasian Heritage Gallery. Through photos, artefacts, and oral histories, learn how the Eurasian community and other Singaporeans endured the Japanese Occupation — from daily life under curfew to acts of quiet resilience. Then join a 1-hour cooking workshop on tapioca kueh. Once a wartime staple, tapioca became comfort food and cultural identity. From trenches to the table, discover how food and stories helped a community survive — and triumph. Includes: Gallery Tour: 1-hour guided walkthrough of the Eurasian Heritage Gallery Workshop: 1-hour tapioca kueh cooking + tasting Storytelling: Wartime accounts and recipes from the Syonan years Tour Fee: $10 per pax.
