About The Children The Children at Lyric Hammersmith Theatre is Lucy Kirkwood’s darkly funny drama about Hazel and Robin, who are living on the edge of a radiation exclusion zone after a catastrophe. Hazel keeps up her yoga, Robin makes parsnip wine, and they are trying to carry on as normally as they can when their old friend Rose arrives with buried memories, old secrets and a proposition. The play follows that visit into questions of loyalty, responsibility and what debt is owed to the next generation. This production is directed by Lyric Hammersmith Theatre Artistic Director Rachel O’Riordan. This is the play’s 10th anniversary production.
